Beau Matthews LLC is an antique, estate jewelry and decorative arts firm founded by Smoky Mountains native Beau Matthews. Based in Portland, Oregon, Beau has spent the last 30 years discovering extraordinary antique and estate jewelry for collectors, dealers, and retailers around the world. Today, he transports his exquisite collection to antique shows and trunk shows in every region of the United States. Beau got an early start in the world of antiques. After attending the University of Tennessee, he set out to Boston, Massachusetts, landing a coveted position at Marika’s Antiques on Charles Street., one of the most prominent antique shops in the country, known to antique dealers as offering an extraordinary collection of jewelry and decorative arts at great prices for the trade.

After attaining a broad knowledge of general antiques in Boston, Beau chose to specialize in antique and estate jewels. He was hired by Andrew Nelson of Nelson Rarities, one of the most respected wholesale antique and estate jewelry dealers in the world. Beau traveled the world for Nelson Rarities, purveying jewels and supplying retail stores with rare and interesting finds.

Beau’s international exposure eventually landed him a position with legendary jeweler and “retailer to the stars,” Fred Leighton of NYC. It was here that Beau worked with designers, stylists, celebrities, international socialites, captains of industry, and royalty. During his time with Fred Leighton, Beau set up an extensive network of sources and clients for buying and selling antique and estate jewelry, which continues to this day.
